Our Notes: M&L watched it May 29, 2012. Good Movie. Not as good as many of the Star Trek movies, but compared to the time travel movies we have watched, this was better than them.  Interesting thing was that there really was NO time travel … rather there was a place where there was no time!

RATING: not quite G rating I would guess – some of the girls had removed their tops but the movie showed them from behind or just a head and shoulder shot.

Our Notes: M & L watched it May 27, 2012. We would NOT recommend this to anyone. A Peter Fonda movie – we did not like it. It appeared that they were not very careful on some of the basic things – like how to turn on the “time transfer machine” – they specified how the control panel worked and how to turn it on early in the movie … then later they did it at least two other ways, neither very close to the original “procedure”.  Once they just hit the transfer button without doing any of the procedure at all.  Worse – the whole premise of the movie was odd, but even more odd how the movie proposed they were dealing with that odd situation.  Humanity was wiped out in the near future, so they needed to send people past that catastrophe to “reseed / restart / rebuild” civilization again.  The movie made up some reason why the only people who could transfer to the future were those under the age of 20 … but then you’d think they would find young people with talents, knowledge and skills to actually do that “rebuilding” of civilization – but instead, the kids that were being sent to the future were pretty much out of it!  Did not see any real skills, talent or knowledge in any of them.

Violence: virtually none

Our Notes: L-M watched it May 24, 2012.  While time travel “was” involved in the story, it was always a subtle reference.  The movie does not show the actual travelling in time or anything really about how it is done. The movie itself was rather good – using time travel but NOT at all being a Sci-Fi movie!

Directed by the author’s [H.G. Wells] Great Grandson.

Our Notes:  – not as good as the original, nor does it match up with the story! The time machine itself was WAY WAY to glitzy with lasers and things way too advanced for 1899. Stick with the 1960 version!
